A Tranquil Escape with Unmatched Hospitality
We thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay in a Japanese-Style Superior Room. The staff's kindness truly stood out, always ready to assist despite our language barrier. The open-air onsens were a serene delight, especially after dinner.

The open-air onsens with mountain views were stunning. However, breakfast hours were a bit late for us.

the staff was nice, but honestly, it would be nice if they offered a welcome gift or room upgrade for special guests, not just the 'regulars. ' Also, the fact that taxis wouldn't pick us up was just absurd. i almost thought of leaving a good review, but the remote location was a complete letdown.

Ryokan Warabino offers an incredible blend of traditional Japanese charm and modern comfort. The open-air onsens are a highlight, especially the one with a stunning mountain view during sunset. Meals are delivered with great care, each a delightful experience filled with seasonal ingredients that leave you feeling satisfied. The spacious room we stayed in included a private toilet and a mini dining space, making our stay extremely comfortable.

Some parts shine, others fall flat
Private onsens added a touch of luxury , while the meals displayed exquisite attention to detail, showcasing seasonal ingredients that left us utterly satisfied.
Time limits in the onsens created slight inconvenience , and some decor felt a bit dated despite its overall charm.

The meals were a highlight, featuring an impressive array of eight courses that showcased attention to detail and seasonal ingredients, though not every dish suited my taste. The view from the room was breathtaking, enhancing the overall experience. The private onsens were a fantastic retreat, providing serenity and relaxation without the hassle of waiting times. However, the breakfast timing was a bit late for our schedule, and it would have been better if there were more flexibility in the onsen reservation system during peak hours.

My kids wished the breakfast hours were a bit earlier.

This was a suitable option for resting in Takayama with reasonable value. The outdoor onsen was beautiful, especially at sunset. Consider bringing your own snacks as the dining hours can be limited.
